FACES of Coal

Campaign

Objective

To educate lawmakers and the general public about the importance of coal and coal mining to local and national economies and to the nation’s energy security.

Tactic

Develop a public and community relations campaign to get Kentuckians organized and working toward fair and balanced answers to energy policy questions.

Results

Compared to a baseline survey conducted in April 2009, there was a notable drop in the percentage of respondents who strongly agree that mountain top coal mining should be banned in Kentucky.
